Robert Gabriel Mugabe was born near the Kutama Jesuit Mission in the Zvimba territory northwest of Salisbury in southwardern Rhodesia to a Malawian preceptor Gabriel Matibili and a Shona mother Bona, both Roman Catholic. He was the trio of six children. He had two older brothers, and unrivalled of them, Michael, was in truth popular in the village.
