However, due to slow and changing environment there are changes in the econ omic consumption situation resulted in an increase in the piece of land of the already large informal and unorganised sector in the new-fashioned years. The government of Gujarat has finally come up with innovative solutions to creating choices for the urban poor through various solutions and multiple dimensions.

UMEED is an ongoing maidservant under the Rs 13,000-crore Garib Samruddhi Yojana of the Gujarat government which aims to achieve sustained reduction in the vulnerability and poverty of the poor. The program provides job training and system to youth from vulnerable families across Gujarat. Implementation of the UMMEED in Ahmedabad has been in the beginning unique due to strong support of the local NGOs. wholly its cov! erage is very limited as it has not continue the basic livelihood issue of the larger section of urban poor.
